VALCOSLAG FOUNDRY COAGULANT
REQUIRES 40 TO 50 % LESS COAGULANT TO
ACCOMPLISH THE REQUIRED SLAGGING
EMPOYEES DO NOT NEED TO TAKE COVER WHEN USED
PROVIDING A SAFER WORKPLACE
NO PARTICLES EXPLODING OR LIFTING OFF THE MELT
PROVIDES A CLEANER WORK AREA
VALCOSLAG was specifically developed for the foundry industry over several years of
testing. Competitive products are simply rough screened perlite ranging as large as 1 / 4
inch to very fine minus 100 mesh particles. When this product is delivered to the melt,
personnel normally run for cover as the large particles explode and the fine particles lift off
and dust the area. ValcoSlag eliminates these problems.
Extensive research into the characteristics of perlite, used in the slagging process,
indicated that 8 mesh ( 2.5 mm ) or greater will have a tendency to explode rapidly
propelling away from the molten metal thus being useless in it’s intended job. If the particle
is to fine, the melt heat will drive the particles away from the melt resulting in additional loss
of slagging product and dust the surrounding work place.
ValcoSlag is designed to eliminate this loss. Testing proved that particles evenly sized
between minus 12 mesh to plus 40 mesh will not explode or lift off the melt. This provides
a safety benefit for your employees.
ValcoSlag used in numerous foundries across the United States report a second major
benefit. Foundries, using ValcoSlag, report a consumption reduction averaging 40 %
versus the other slag coagulants.
If you are looking for cost reduction and a safer work place then you need to try Valco Slag.
